PLANT PROFILE:
- 3-6 ft. tall with reddish green stems which may be slightly hairy.
- Leaves are lance shaped & densely hairy on the underside.
- The flowers are a flat topped branched cluster, resembling an umbrella.
- Small flowers are ½ in. wide, white, with 2-10 rays & yellow centers.
- Seed heads have several white bristles.
- Habitat: moist soil & full sun.
- Present only in northern Illinois.
