    PLANT PROFILE:

    • 2 ¼ ft. tall, unbranched, side stems are covered in long white hairs
    • Flower heads are clusters spanning 2-8 in. & are quite fragrant. 
    • Each head has 15 disk florets.
    • Spread by rhizomes forming colonies.
    • Habitat: sun & wet conditions, not aquatic but tolerates flooding.
    • Fairly common in Illinois in blacksoil prairies and various wetlands.
