PLANT PROFILE:
- 2 ¼ ft. tall, unbranched, side stems are covered in long white hairs
- Flower heads are clusters spanning 2-8 in. & are quite fragrant.
- Each head has 15 disk florets.
- Spread by rhizomes forming colonies.
- Habitat: sun & wet conditions, not aquatic but tolerates flooding.
- Fairly common in Illinois in blacksoil prairies and various wetlands.
